My point is that the two words "sampo" and "sambo" are virtually identical
in spelling and sound as I have pointed out earlier. Regardless of what
"sampo" means in Japanese, this word should not be used in the title
especially together with "Chibikuro" because of the similarity with the
earlier book. There were many possible titles you could have chosen for the
new book. You could have named it "Kuroinu Monogatari" or "Kuroinu no
boken" or "Kurochan no taihen na ichinichi" or "Kurochan no pan keki" etc.
There is no excuse for you choosing "Chibikuro Sampo" as the title of the
new book. Yes, you are correct about the fact that "Nikker" is not a word
(good observation!) but this example precisely points to the problem. In
the example "Nikker" does not mean anything but it is so similar to the
original "Nigger" that the title "Little Black Nikker" becomes offensive.
In the same respect "Chibikuro Sampo" is an offensive title even though
"sampo" in itself could mean something totally different. Your attempted
excuse is even more nonsensical because in the new english version you have
merely shortened the name from "Sambo" to "Sam".
This is not the right attitude for revising an offensive book as "Little
Black Sambo" and you have disappointed me tremendously. To purposefully
choose a word that sounds similar and still not the same as the original
racist word is highly offensive and should not be tolerated in the world of
literature.

Furthermore, you have said,

Again, I ask you to terminate the publication of the current book and change
the title
